چکیده
Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) is the most severe condition on spectrum of sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBDs). The Paediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ) one used and validated screening tools, but it lacks comprehensive assessment some determinants OSAS, specifically anamnestic quality. This study aims to assess accuracy specific items added original PSQ, particularly related patient’s history quality sleep, for OSAS in a paediatric population living Sicily (Italy). Fifteen items, divided into “anamnestic” “related quality” were PSQ. whole questionnaire was administered via digital form parents children at 4 schools (age range: 3–13 years). For each item, sensitivity specificity, positive negative predictive values, likelihood ratios calculated. highest (80.0, 95% CI: 28.4; 99.5), combination with specificity (61.1, 35.7; 82.7), found Item 32 (“assumption bizarre or abnormal positions during sleep”). item statistically significant predicting occurrence (p-value ?0.003). demonstrates disturbance preliminary disease. Although these results should be larger sample subjects, they suggest that including factors discriminating could further increase efficiency

متن کاملPre-operative screening for obstructive sleep apnoea.
Sleep disordered breathing, especially obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), has a high and increasing prevalence. Depending on the apnoea and hypopnoea scoring criteria used, and depending on the sex and age of the subjects investigated, prevalence varies between 3% and 49% of the general population. These varying prevalences need to be reflected when considering screening for OSA. OSA is a cardiova...
متن کاملA Comparative study of four Persian versions of sleep questionnaires for screening obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS)
Background: Diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is valuable, but it is time-consuming and expensive. Appropriate screening instruments help clinicians select high-risk individuals for further investigations. In the present study, we compared 4 popular instruments used in screening OSAS including Berlin, STOP, STOP-BANG questionnaires, and Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS). ...
